    Job Description

    Flood Testing Laboratories is seeking an experienced Payroll/HR Specialist to join them. Experience with union contracts and Prevailing Wage experience is a plus. Our accounting program is Ajera. Our payroll program is Paylocity.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Enter time in Ajera (Deltek accounting program) for field techs weekly.

    • Accept Project Manager time in Ajera weekly.

    • Process weekly Union payroll in Paylocity.

    • Process bi-weekly non-union payroll in Paylocity.

    • Reconcile Payrolls in Ajera.

    • Transfer and reconcile 401k payments bi-weekly

    • Pay monthly Union benefits online.

    • Track Vacation, PTO and Personal days.

    • Process certified payroll reports weekly - mail out originals and online LCP Tracker, IDOT, Illinois Tollway.

    • Calculate monthly OCIP forms when needed.

    • Maintain personnel files and training files. Upload new certifications online.

    • Update rates and benefits.

    • Maintain OSHA records.

    • Maintain client surveys.

    • Onboard new employees through Paylocity.

    • Accept and pay expenses.

    • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

     

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • High school diploma

    • Minimum of 4 years in payroll. Experience with Prevailing Wage and Union contracts are desired.

    • Full time position Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

    • Sound judgement, initiative, and professional communication skills.

    • Will be working with confidential information.

    • Excellent leadership, teamwork and management skills.

    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

    • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

    • Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficient math skills, calculating wages, and different rates.

    • Proficient computer skills, including email, uploading documents and navigation of website and the ability to explain and walk others through such processes.
