Position Overview
The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the dining floor, ensuring exceptional guest service, and supporting staff to create a positive dining experience. This role involves managing front-of-house staff, coordinating with kitchen and bar teams, handling guest inquiries, and upholding the restaurant’s high standards of service and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee front-of-house operations, managing servers, hosts, and support staff during shifts.
Ensure a positive guest experience by monitoring service quality and addressing any issues promptly.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure efficient service flow and timely order delivery.
Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with professionalism, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Manage staff scheduling and assignments to ensure adequate floor coverage during peak times.
Assist in training and onboarding new front-of-house staff, fostering a welcoming and service-oriented culture.
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate service standards, promotions, and expectations.
Monitor cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the dining area.
Assist in inventory management for front-of-house supplies, ensuring items are stocked and available.
Support team members during busy service times to maintain seamless operations and high-quality service.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively.
Excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to creating positive guest experiences.
Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods (4-8 hours).
Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and a basic understanding of inventory management.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
The Floor Manager role requires long periods of standing and walking throughout the restaurant.
