Carpet City Flooring Center is looking for a General Manager to take over the managerial duties of our established store in Holmen. • The ideal candidate has great people skills and hands-on leadership skills. • Experience in the floor covering industry or construction is preferred. • Pay is based on salary and a performance bonus. The General Manager is responsible for all the operational practices within their assigned store, ensuring all company policies are upheld and comply with all decisions made by senior management. This position involves overseeing staff, ensuring an excellent customer and employee environment, managing sales strategies, handling customer complaints, and maintaining financial accounts. All decisions in store management are to be made in the best interests of the company and the customer. This role is an ambassador for Carpet City Flooring Center. Please note this position is located in Holmen, WI. Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management • Lead by example, coach team members, and oversee recruitment and training • Set clear expectations and review employee performance quarterly • Maintain a positive work environment and handle any disciplinary actions Sales & Strategy • Manage customer relationships from first contact to post-install follow-up • Monitor goals, sales performance, traffic, and conversion rates Store Operations • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and support customers and staff • Provide coverage as needed and respond to internal requests within one hour • Use store software and ensure accurate inventory counts and reporting Financial Oversight • Manage store expenses, purchasing, and monthly inventory • Assist with installer payroll and related clerical tasks Customer & Installer Relations • Resolve customer service issues and manage installation scheduling • Address complaints or issues related to installation quality or timeliness Qualifications: COMPETENCIES: • Proficiency in mathematics to identify the square footage of rooms for carpet and hard surfaces. • Proficiency in installation applications and processes. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. • Proficient in sales strategies and customer service. • Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and financial management. • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Work will be performed inside and outside of the warehouse and store. • Work is performed inside the office on the sales floor. • Work is performed off-site at customers' locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without restrictions. TRAVEL REQUIRED: • Travel will be required to customers’ homes or other store locations. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or Equivalent. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field • 2-5 years of experience in a related field. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: • Unrestricted driver's license. WORK AUTHORIZATIONS: • Eligible to work in the United States.
