This position plays a critical role in ASC’s Human Resource Department. The candidate needs to be a versatile forward thinking HR professional, but also exhibit the attitude and behaviors favorable to the company’s culture. This position requires a strategically minded, out-of-the-box thinker to develop strong employee relations plans and engagement.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides a visible HR presence to enable / facilitate real time employee relations, engagement and solutions
Contribute to the delivery of key HR processes (e.g. career development, performance support, employee movement, leadership coaching, union relations, benefits etc.)
Utilize HR metrics and people data to drive solutions based on trends and understand effectiveness
Develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives
Serve as subject matter expert on majority of HR disciplines
Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies and identify future staffing needs.
Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
Required Skills
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
3-5 years Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
Experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding
3+ years’ experience interacting with unionized workforce.
Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality
PHR or SPHR certification preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
