    You have completed a BS in Nuclear Engineering. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have worked in an engineering role for at least 2 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

    You may have also acquired the following skills:

    • Pressurized water reactor (PWR) or boiling water reactor (BWR) vessel fluence analysis experience, dose/source term, and/or spent fuel pool criticality experience.

    • Experience in computer model development and application (e.g., MCNP, SCALE, SERPENT, CASMO, SIMULATE, or other nuclear industry analysis code).

    • Display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships.

    • Have the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments and execute them on-time with quality.

    • Effective written and oral communication skills.

As a Fluence and Radiological Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:

    • You will be responsible for radiological analyses for commercial power plants and R&D efforts, using the latest codes and methods for nuclear applications.
    • Determining the lifetime impact on components due to calculated fluence values
    • Calculating dose due to theoretical accidents and the impact on surrounding areas
    • Use of optimization tools and automation to streamline the analyses
    • Participate in a support interface with customer and regulatory authorities to obtain regulatory approval of the Framatome reactor core design, codes and methods
    • Prepare and review safety analyses, calculation files, and associated records.

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $73,000 - $96,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

  • Qualifications
    • Must have ability to solder in conformance with IPC J-STD-001 requirements.
    • Capable of interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints and be able to follow written work instructions.
    • Capable of tear down and re-install of all systems
    • Requires the working knowledge of and use of hand tools, power tools, microscope, and electronic equipment.
    • Drives for results, action oriented.
    • Detail and quality oriented.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
