    Job Title: Food Runners/Expo

    Compensation: $10.65/hour + Estimated Tips ($64-$82/shift)*

    Status: Part-Time

    Location: Manhattan - Paramount Plaza - 1633 Broadway New York, 10019

    *Actual tips will vary based on shift and store location

    About Us:

    Din Tai Fung is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Xiao Long Bao, or steamed soup dumplings, each made by hand with our “Golden Ratio” of 18 folds. Originally founded in Taiwan as a cooking oil retail business in 1958, Din Tai Fung was reborn as a dumpling and noodle restaurant in 1972. Since its founding, Din Tai Fung has become world-renowned for its quality, standardization, and service.     About the Role:

    Food Runners are responsible for running food to guests at their tables according to Din Tai Fung’s Food Running Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP’s”).

    Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

    Runs all food and beverages to tables in a timely manner to ensure food quality and in line with Din Tai Fung’s Food Running SOP

    Food items include hot soups (over 140 degrees F), which must be handled with caution and only after formal training

    Food items include dumplings inside bamboo steamers, which must be handled with caution and only after formal training

    Organizes tickets and food onto trays at the Expo Station

    Packs takeout orders according to Din Tai Fung Takeout Packing SOP

    Cleans and organizes the Expo Station and Takeout Packing Station

    Completes Runner Side Work

    Labels all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures

    Attends monthly staff meetings and Food Runner meetings

    Supporting Functions:

    Maintains a cheerful, friendly and welcoming demeanor to all guests and co-workers

    Keeps all Front of House areas clean, organized and sanitized

    Lifts/moves boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)

    Assists with regular deep cleaning of the restaurant

    Maintains confidentiality regarding all propriety information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP’s”).

    Job Requirements:
