Full-time Food Service Kitchen Manager Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm (additional hours as needed)
Community Psychiatric Institute, a leader in Behavioral Healthcare and Substance Abuse treatment in Essex County for over 50 years has an opening for a full-time Kitchen Manager/Cook in our adult Partial Care Program.
If you have a passion for food & enjoy working in a helping and supportive community environment this is an excellent opportunity. Work under the direction of our program director to help manage and work with our other kitchen team members to assist with daily breakfast and lunch preparation & food service in a community behavioral health social service program in accordance with the Department of Agriculture's CACFP standards.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining and upholding standards of sanitation and safety for food prep, cleanliness of all areas of kitchen and storage as required by local and State health departments.
Oversee and coordinate all daily food preparation and meal planning under the Department of Agriculture's CACFP guidelines.
Supervise and work directly with kitchen staff in meal planning, prep and serving.
Responsible for cooking and serving of breakfast and lunch for approximately 150 individuals daily along with other kitchen staff.
Maintaining a neat appearance at all times.
Communicates in a friendly and professional manner with agency staff, patients of the program and other community partners.
Assist with shopping & pick up of food and related supplies.
Coordinates partnership programs with the Community Foodbank of NJ & oversees weekly in-house pantry.
Must hold current state-required sanitation (Safe Food Handling and/or Certified Food Manager) certification/licensure or be willing to attend required course for certification within 30 days of hire.
Valid NJ Driver’s license required in good standing for a minimum of 5 years.
Required:
Valid New Jersey Driver's license for at least 5 years with good driving record.
Food Safety & Food Handling knowledge.
Patience and a supportive attitude
