    Are you an above average automotive service technician with recovery experience who is a self-starting, detail oriented, and customer service driven individual? Have you ever considered taking your automotive and mechanical trade skills to the next level?

    Our fast-growing forensic investigation sister company, Evidence Storage Concepts, is currently looking for a detail oriented, mechanically inclined automotive technician to join its team in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This position is a unique opportunity for professional growth by utilizing skills learned in the automotive field to support forensic investigations, evidence collection, and evidence storage throughout our service areas. This includes daily oversite and basic upkeep of a climate-controlled evidence storage warehouse.

    The ideal candidate will have, and be able to demonstrate, experience and proficiency in multiple disciplines as follows:

    • A minimum of ten years’ experience as an automotive service technician in an environment that included disassembly and reassembly of major vehicle systems

    • ASE certification, Master preferred

    • Experience with recovery, loading, and transportation of different types of vehicles preferred

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history

    • Experience with various types of trailers both open and enclosed, to include, pulling, backing, winching, and loading

    • A working knowledge of Alldata Professional software

    • Experience in basic forklift operations

    • A working knowledge of mechanical devices such as a two-post lift, pneumatic systems and tools, jacking systems, etc.

    • A basic understanding of building systems such as HVAC, electrical and plumbing

    • Ability to multi-task and organize workloads with priorities that frequently change

    • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift items over 50 pounds, complete manual tasks to include shoveling, raking and sweeping, and to manipulate items that may be damaged or deformed

    • Must have own automotive tools

    • Must be able to work in a team environment

    • Must be able to travel with little notice and to work out of town when required

    • Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and other team members

    • Must have an above-average ability to operate a laptop computer, iPad, iPhone, digital camera, and specialized 3-D scanning systems

    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and operate within a drug-free workplace

    This position is specialized, and the candidate selected will be trained in the proper techniques and practices needed to document, collect, package, transport, and store items of evidence ranging from small electrical items to cars and trucks. This will require a certification test to attain an Evidence Collection Technician designation after one-year of employment and on-going continuing education yearly. In this position you will use your automotive experience to consult with our fire investigation team on vehicle fires and failures.
