We are looking for a Foreperson to lead and manage the on-site work to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Prior knowledge of mechanical parking structures is not required, but past experience should provide a foundation for success.
You must be comfortable working with a variety of subcontractors on construction sites. Communication and real-time problem solving are essential. Friendly demeanor with all customers is essential to this position.
We are currently hiring in the Bay Area and this position WILL require you to be onsite AND travel to other project sites in the Bay Area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leading and managing the on-site team
Coordinating and overseeing all work on site
Ensuring schedule and budget adherence
Ensuring quality standards are met
Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness
Liaising with inspection authorities regarding inspections
Providing technical assistance, interpreting drawings, recommending construction methods, equipment, as required
Ensuring all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, compliance, and document any and all violations.
Verifying that all material, manpower, and resources needed to support the project(s)
Coordinating field personnel daily and weekly work plans
Understand all elements of semi and fully-automated parking systems
Troubleshoot, repair, install parking system components
Implement tests to ensure all components are working correctly
Perform maintenance/service and provide customer support when not on an active project, document as needed
Diagnose problems, come up with solutions to repair them, order parts if needed
May be required to manage direct reports
On call work onsite will be required
Frequent travel to job sites will be required
Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
3+ years experience as a Foreperson, Superintendent or other related role
Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments without supervision
Dependable, consistent, hardworking, self-starter
Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams (i.e. Construction Design Documents and Specifications)
Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule (may require on call)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
Working knowledge of the equipment strongly encouraged
Ability to work independently without much supervision and manage time effectively
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods of time and working in confined spaces
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Familiar with OSHA, Safety Rules and other compliance
Bilingual. English and Spanish speaking is a plus
