WE ARE SEEKING PRESCHOOL TEACHERS/CAREGIVERS WHO HAVE A STRONG FOUNDATION IN PLAY-BASED, DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CHILDCARE/ PRESCHOOL SETTINGS. SEEKING STRONG TEACHERS WHO WILL HELP TO OPEN A NEW FACILITY AND ENROLL TO CAPACITY.

Fortune Preschool Teachers will provide a high quality preschool and early preschool program within a lab school environment. The school is based on Reggio Emilia and our approach includes an open-ended environment, emergent curriculum, loose parts, focus on nature, and discovery through play. Teachers will observe and document children’s daily learning; invest in a personal relationship with each student and family; value each child as an individual. Fortune Preschool is a culture of high expectations while creating a nurturing supportive environment that includes the shared belief that every student will attend college when the time comes. The program is based on best practices in early learning and this site will serve as a training facility/lab school for future educators. As a lab school, teachers are expected to provide guidance, mentoring and leadership to interns.

Classroom teachers will work as a team and will report to the site Preschool Director. Professional Development and training will be provided! (Reggio Emilia, Play-Based, DRDP, ECERS, etc.)

School Hours : Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

• A permit or credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing authorizing service in the care, development, and instruction of children in a child care and development program.
• Child Development Master Teacher Permit OR A current credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing authorizing teaching service in elementary school or a single subject credential in home economics
• 24 units in ECE and/or CD or two years’ experience in early childhood education or a child care and development program
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field (Preferred)
• 4+ year working with children as a lead teacher or equivalent.
• Valid First Aid/CPR training, or willingness to obtain.
