  • Responsibilities

    As a Foster Parent Contractor with Renewed Vision CDDC, you will provide temporary care for children placed through our foster care program. Foster parents are responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children while working in collaboration with Renewed Vision CDDC staff to meet each child’s unique needs. This is an independent contractor role requiring compliance with state regulations, licensing standards, and the values of Renewed Vision CDDC.

    Application Process

    Prospective Foster Parent Contractors must complete the following steps:

    1. Submit an application, including personal and household information.

    2. Undergo a comprehensive home study and background check.

    3. Complete mandatory training sessions before becoming eligible for placements. Training sessions provided by Renewed Vision CDDC or designated partners.

    4. Sign a contractor agreement outlining responsibilities, policies, and compensation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment for children in foster care.
    • Meet the child’s basic needs. Ensure the child’s physical, emotional, developmental, and educational needs are met.
    • Establish and maintain a daily routine to promote structure and consistency. Supervise and guide the child’s activities, including attending school, participating in extracurricular activities, and attending medical and therapy appointments.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of the child’s progress, activities, and incidents as required by the agency. Submit required reports.
    • Actively participate in the development and implementation of the child’s individualized care plan. Communicate regularly with support team. Attend and participate in team meetings, case reviews, and any other required agency events.
    • Work in partnership with biological families when reunification is the goal.
    • Ensure compliance with all state regulations and Renewed Vision CDDC policies.
    • Maintain an active foster care license. Attend and complete all mandatory training sessions. Renewed Vision CDDC can provide support in the licensing process.
    • Document all expenditures related to the child for reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.
    • Advocate for the child’s best interests in educational, medical, and social settings.
    • Support the child’s mental health and emotional well-being. Provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that respects the child’s background, identity, and experiences.

    Qualifications

    1. Must be at least 21 years old.
    2. Completion of the state licensing process for foster care, including background checks and home inspections.
    3. A clean and safe home environment that meets all state and agency requirements.
    4. Reliable transportation and the ability to transport children to appointments, school, and activities.
    5. Willingness to work collaboratively with Renewed Vision CDDC staff and other professionals.
    6. Previous experience in caregiving, child welfare, or related fields.
    7. Understanding of trauma-informed care practices.
    8. Familiarity with the foster care system, child development, and behavioral management techniques.
    9. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

    Compensation

    Foster Parent Contractors receive compensation based on the child’s needs, level of care, and duration of placement. Rates are determined by state guidelines and Renewed Vision CDDC’s policies. Additional support may include:

    • Reimbursement for child-related expenses such as clothing, school supplies, and activities.
    • Access to resources such as training, therapy, and case management support.
