    As part of the Foster Success team, the Education Coordinator advances the organization’s mission by ensuring students are heard, supported, and empowered through access to educational programs and resources. This position will advance the organization’s mission by ensuring teens and young adults who have experienced foster care have access to the Education and Training Voucher (ETV) information, funding, and education success coaching in Indiana.

    The Education Coordinator provides direct support to students who have experienced foster care in the state of Indiana. This individual will support ETV recipients attending postsecondary institutions in the northern portion of Indiana. The Education Coordinator will work with the Assistant Director of Postsecondary Education to deliver the ETV and college success programs and act as a resource for students. This individual will deliver the ETV program support and act as a resource for students and partners.

    The Education Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Postsecondary Education.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Program Management (60%)

    • Partner with the Assistant Director of Postsecondary Education to provide tailored support and coaching to ETV recipients, helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

    • Develop personalized education success plans, offering holistic support that addresses barriers such as transportation, housing, financial challenges, and emotional well-being.

    • Conduct monthly meetings with students to ensure ongoing support and to foster an environment that promotes academic persistence and completion.

    Outreach and Advocacy (20%)

    • Represent Foster Success as a thought leader on issues related to foster youth and educational achievement, advocating for the needs and potential of this diverse group.

    • Engage with regional partners and attend community events to raise awareness about Foster Success programs and initiatives.

    • Provide valuable insights and materials to support internal and external communication efforts, ensuring that the organization's mission and opportunities are clearly conveyed.

    Data Reporting and Analysis (20%)

    • Utilize Salesforce and internal tools to track and monitor program engagement and outcomes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

    • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Postsecondary Education to analyze data and improve program effectiveness in alignment with Foster Success’s mission.

    • Maintain comprehensive case files, reports, and records in real time, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for candidates holding degrees in Education, Social Work, Human Development, or related fields.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals from foster care backgrounds or similar populations; experience in child welfare or education is preferred.

    • Strong understanding of college student retention and development, with a proven ability to create inclusive and supportive environments for young adults from diverse backgrounds.

    • Demonstrated success in program implementation and process improvement, with a creative and adaptive approach to problem-solving.

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with regional community partners and agencies.

    • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, diverse team.

    • Commitment to the inclusion of all individuals in the workplace and a strong adherence to confidentiality and organizational policies.

    • Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in Foster Success Employment agreements and the organizational Handbook, including all confidentiality requirements for all client information.

    • Have proficiency in computer skills and an experience with and knowledge of relevant software, particularly Salesforce, Zoom, and Google and Microsoft Products.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekends and/or evenings in order to meet organizational goals.

    • Hold a valid Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle or the ability to rent a vehicle for work-related travel.
