    Role Overview:

    The Ocean Route Sales Manager will be responsible for expanding business opportunities within a designated trade lane, marketing a full range of ocean services to both new and existing clients. This role involves developing tailored solutions, exceeding client expectations, and supporting other company products as required. The Ocean Route Sales Manager will play a key role in driving business growth while adhering to company policies and maintaining strong customer relationships.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Business Development & Planning:

    Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned trade lane, focusing on U.S.-paid business and supporting the overall network pipeline.

    Develop a comprehensive prospecting plan utilizing market research, databases, industry trade associations, trade shows, and networking events.

    Prepare action plans to target key decision-makers at prospective clients and engage them with tailored solutions.

    Maintain a deep understanding of the client's business segment and competitor offerings to provide competitive solutions.

    Negotiate pricing and service conditions, proposing complementary services to meet client needs.

    Secure service agreements/contracts with clients.

    1. Client Relationship Management & Follow-Up:

    Maintain consistent communication with key trade lane customers and anticipate changes in demand to offer new service solutions.

    Foster long-term customer relationships through industry networking events and customer meetings.

    Collaborate with Product Management Teams to develop innovative customer value propositions and solutions.

    Stay updated on specific country trade developments, both operationally and from a procurement perspective.

    Share market insights and emerging trends with the U.S. Sales team regarding existing and potential clients, industry shifts, and competitor activities.

    Qualifications:

    2-5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in ocean freight or logistics.

    A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.

    Proven sales achievements with concrete business results.

    Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

    Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly learn new applications.

    Strong planning, organizational, and performance measurement skills.

    Active involvement in the business community and ability to foster industry connections.
