Job Description
Set up machines prior to shift start-up, attend to the operation of these machines, and make adjustments as necessary for changes due to production type.
Attend to and adjust machines during operation to ensure product flow through the machines.
Monitor machines for any mis-cuts of product due to improper settings.
Notify Maintenance Supervision of any machine malfunctions or required repairs.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and assist other plant personnel in various areas of the plant as needed.
Assist maintenance in repairs and overhauls.
90% - Attend to the operation of machines and equipment (e.g. leg processors, wrappers, CFS, PACMAC, STORK lines and DAYPAC ) making required changes, adjustments and notifications as needed.
10% - additional functions to include assisting in other areas of the plant as required. Maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and disease control requirements while performing job duties
Help maintain and improve quality and food safety to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks including: lifting 70-100 lbs., working in confined spaces, ability to work at heights. Climb up and down ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand, and reach on a daily/ repetitive basis.
Ability to read and understand job related manuals.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical problems.
Ability to identify variables in product and weather and adjust burner and dampers to compensate.
Good communication skills (in English and Spanish) both verbal and written and to direct subordinates with the daily assignment of tasks.
Basic math skills.
Must be able to operate all equipment and machinery involved with the plant which requires a clean DMV printout.
Knowledge of procedures for confined space entry, fall protection, hot works, vehicle operation (inc. shuttle trucks, loaders, man-lifts, and forklifts), and lockout- tagout of equipment.
Good problem solving/ diagnostic skills.
Acceptable attendance, performance, and safety record.
Willing to accept flexible work schedule.
