Our busy Dermatology practice is looking for a Full-Time and a Part-Time Front Desk Administrator to join our team!
Duties:
Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts
Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries
Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying clinical staff of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding clinic staff of service delays
Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording, and collecting patient co-pays and account balances
Coordinates with Insurance companies, referring medical offices and Pathology Labs
Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Attains and maintains mastery level knowledge of all assigned medical practices, including provider/clinic schedules, patient scheduling preferences, and scope of services offered
Performs duties independently, and in collaboration with team, asking for assistance from peers and/or supervisors as needed
Obtains required information such as insurance cards and driver’s licenses; obtains consent to treat, releases of information, and other required paperwork from 100% of patients
Takes ownership of the patient check in process, verifies appointments via EHR practice management system; explains next steps in patient appointment flow
Averages a minimum of 95% registration accuracy; enters information consistently following established guidelines; information is not only accurate, but also consistently uniform (i.e. uses upper- and lower-case type appropriately, enters complete phone numbers, etc.)
Handles patients and others with tact; utilizes de-escalation techniques and knows when to disengage and ask for management
