Shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm

Western Carolina Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. Western Carolina Surgery Center is a fast-paced surgery center environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
Job Summary
Check in surgery patients for same day surgery. Prepare charts for next day surgery patients.
Interface with visitors, patients, family, and physicians on phone and in person. Collect estimated patient liability, as determined by insurance verification clerk.
Job Responsibilities
Operates telephone system including receiving incoming calls, taking messages, identify nature of business and routing calls to the appropriate person/department.
Performs chart preparation for next day surgery patients.
Performs check in/admission for daily surgery patients. Copy identification and insurance cards. Communication with Pre-Op nursing staff for transfer of patient to prepare for surgery.
Collect patient responsibility as determined by the Insurance Verifier.
Reviews financial obligation with patient and authorized party following USPI’s Surgicares program or any other program established by the company.
Follows all policies and procedures.
Complete Digital Expected Payment Log daily.
Work in team environment.
Present professionally and friendly nature to assure positive patient experience.
Verify patient demographic and insurance information for all insurance patients.
Review appropriate forms with patients and obtain all necessary signatures.
