The Hampton Inn & Suites is seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Night Auditor to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our hotel during the night hours. The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing exceptional guest service during overnight shifts. As the Night Auditor, you will be responsible for overseeing the night shift activities, reconciling financial transactions, and preparing reports for management. Your focus on accuracy, customer service, and organizational skills will contribute to the overall success of our hotel.
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform accurate and timely nightly audits of hotel guest accounts, ensuring all charges and payments are recorded correctly.
· Verify and balance all revenue-generating departments' records, including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and other hotel outlets.
· Maintain accurate records of cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
· Check-in late-arriving guests and handle guest inquiries and concerns during the night shift.
· Assist in the preparation of reports summarizing the hotel's financial performance for the night shift.
· Review and reconcile daily guest charges, ensuring all charges are properly posted.
· Handle end-of-day accounting procedures, including daily revenue postings and cash deposits.
· Conduct accurate room rate checks and make necessary adjustments when required.
· Assist in maintaining and updating guest profiles and loyalty program memberships.
· Act as a liaison between guests and other hotel departments during the night, ensuring guests' needs are met promptly and efficiently.
· Respond to emergency situations and security concerns, taking appropriate actions as per hotel policies.
· Handle guest checkouts and process payments accurately.
· Ensure the safety and security of the hotel premises during the night hours.
· Address any discrepancies or issues found during the audit process and communicate with management to resolve them.
· Coordinate with the housekeeping department to ensure that room statuses are updated correctly.
· Follow hotel policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of guest information.
· Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guests have a positive experience during their stay.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or accounting is a plus.
· Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role is preferred.
· Proficient in using hotel management software, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts.
· Customer service-oriented with the ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns professionally.
· Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Knowledge of safety and security protocols, with the ability to respond to emergency situations effectively.
· Flexible schedule, including the ability to work on weekends and holidays.
