CAM Medical Group is hiring a bilingual (English and Spanish) Medical Assistant and Receptionist with experience working with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System. This is an excellent opportunity that offers benefits and a competitive salary. The Medical Assistant and Receptionist will work directly with the physicians regularly. Prior experience is required. The candidate must speak Spanish and be available to start working immediately.
Requirements
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a deal-breaker
Previous experience in a medical office is required
Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
Experience in answering phones and scheduling appointments
Previous experience as a receptionist/customer service
Previous experience as a medical assistant
EMR knowledgeable, Athenahealth preferred
Excellent verbal communication skills and proven ability to multitask
A cooperative customer-service attitude is important
Strong organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Reliable transportation to work at two locations
Essential functions of Medical Receptionists:
Work closely with peers to schedule, follow up, and monitor patient engagement.
Manage the front desk area, including greeting patients, checking in and checking out patients, balancing collections, and closing out deposit batches.
Collect copayments, self-payments, and patients' balances.
Verify and maintain up-to-date patient demographics and insurance eligibility.
Answer and triage incoming calls.
Review all phone messages and return calls in a timely manner.
Schedule and confirm patients' appointments.
Maintain order in the reception and waiting area.
Assist other team members' functions as deemed appropriate
Essential functions of Medical Assistant:
Prepare patients for examination, treatments, and procedures and obtain weight, vital signs, and medical history.
Assist physicians as needed in the care of the patients.
Maintains a timely flow of patients.
Administer medication and samples with special training and approval.
Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
Provide medical supplies inventory to the Administration monthly.
Clean and maintain well-stocked examination, treatment, and procedure rooms.
