    • MINIMUM 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A MEDICAL OFFICE/CLINIC
    • FLUENT IN SPANISH (READING AND SPEAKING)
    • ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN CLINICS
    • LEGALLY ABLE TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES
    • KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH EMR, PREFERRABLY ATHENA

    FRONT DESK/RECEPTIONIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Exudes excellent communication and coordination among the Care Team. • Work closely with others of the Care Team to schedule, reschedule, follow-up, and monitor patient engagement. • It is especially important to greet patients when they come in. Be courteous to everyone. • Check-in patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner. • Verifies and maintains up-to-date patient demographics and insurance eligibility. • Monitors, screens, and sorts Medical Home communication daily including Telephone/Web encounters, fax inbox, mail, etc. • Proactively Assists the Care Team in pre-visit preparation, screening, accessing patient needs, and monitoring patient registries • Utilizes the registry and analyzes performance measurements to identify areas of improvement and works as a member of Care Team to establish methods for quality improvement • Maintains order and compliance in the reception and waiting areas inclusive of up-to-date education and materials appropriate to the patient population • Assists with other Care Team functions as deemed appropriate • Follows all policies and procedures outlined by the practice Knowledge and Education Requirements: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proven ability to multitask, problem solve, and apply critical thinking skills • Previous utilization and experience with an EMR preferred • Bilingual skills preferred • Reception and/or phone answering experience in an office setting, medical office setting preferred. K Job responsibilities and functions are and not limited to:

    1. As soon as you get to the clinic, turn off the night mode on the phone system.
    2. Greet patients, kindly being courteous to everyone.
    3. Triage incoming calls. Review all phone messages and return calls in a timely manner and or give messages to another individual responsible for calls.
    4. Responsible for front desk management while in clinic, including greeting patients, checking in and out, balancing collections, close out batches and reviewing appointments charges status report at the end of each day.
    5. Call for follow up appointments and recommendations for patients seen by on call physician.
    6. Update demographics form every three months and document it on the yellow box.
    7. Collect copayment, self-payments, and patient’s balance.
    8. Always have the front desk area organized and presentable. Trash can should not be full of paper.
    9. Make sure that the waiting area for patients is presentable and pleasant.
    10. Patients in reception area can hear your conversation with staff and on the phone. Be professional and responsible.
    11. There must be staff always present at the front desk.
    12. Follow all instructions that the Doctors tell you to do, at the time it needs to be done.

    MEDICAL ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Exudes excellent communication and coordination among the Care Team. • Greets and prepares patients for examination, treatments and procedures and obtains weight, vital signs, and short patient history. • Assists physician as needed in the care of the patients by way of Evidence Based Guidelines and standing orders. • Maintains timely flow of patients. Informs patients of appointment delays. • Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physician. • Administers medication and samples with special training and approval. • Proactively assists the Care Team in addressing the needs of the patient population. • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment, including sterilization. • Provides medical supplies inventory to the Practice Administrator, monthly. • Fill out the medical supplies order form, monthly. • Cleans and maintains well-stocked examination, treatment, and procedure rooms. • Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques and patient coaching for patient self-management support. • Provides verbal and written instructions to patients according to protocol and as physician directs, accessing their understanding of the materials. • Asks to insurance companies and institutions for referrals authorizations on a timely manner. • Arranges for and follows-up on outstanding referrals, tests, treatments, therapy, and hospital admissions. • Labels and maintains proper handling and storage of specimens and tests. • Ensures disposition of test results (i.e., pathology). • Documents all procedures, test, and examination results as appropriate.
