Brief Overview:
The school receptionist is the first impression of our school and an essential part of our positive image and successful environment. The receptionist needs to provide a welcoming atmosphere as they greet parents, children, teachers, and other visitors at our school.
Our preschool & child care program is a mission of St. Anthony of Padua Parish. We provide loving care and education to children from infants to preschool age 5. We are fortunate to be located in Ambler, PA where we have strong community support and a vibrant, active town center.
Responsibilities:
Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner, as well as welcome parents, children, teachers, and visitors daily.
Practice and support an atmosphere of trust and confidentiality among all staff, children, and parents.
Participate in the drop-off and pick-up of children in the lobby while maintaining the check-in and out of children on our Tadpoles attendance tool.
Facilitate early dismissals of students based on teacher and parent communications.
Support teachers and the management team in the event of a sick or injured child and potentially contact parents and/or emergency services.
Maintain and document the Child and Staff Illness & Injury Reports for quality improvement review.
Attend Monthly Staff Meetings and provide meeting minutes to the Director
Update the school website monthly with new school activity photos.
Support teachers and the management team in daily operation questions and/or tasks.
Assist the teaching staff with the administration of the Frogstreet child curriculum and assessment tool.
Assist in the Department of Human Services (DHS) and Archdiocese certification requirements.
Assist and support the management team as requested for miscellaneous projects.
Maintain the reception area and all shared areas in a clean and organized manner.
Maintain the First Aid and AED supplies at the front desk and communicate the needed or expired items.
Maintain building sign-in book for support therapists and vendors.
Receive deliveries, sort and distribute incoming mail and packages.
Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma, preferably 2 years prior experience in customer service or office administration.
Ability to use technology effectively.
Punctual and dependable
Adaptable to changing circumstances.
Possess outstanding people skills with the ability to answer questions, relay messages, and provide information to others in a positive, clear, and concise manner.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks
Conscientious about keeping the school environment safe, clean, and organized.
