Arepet Industries, LLC has an immediate opening for DAY & NIGHT Front end Loader Operators at our Von Ormy plant.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Front-End Loader Operator to join our sand plant team. The operator will be responsible for handling raw materials, loading trucks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring efficient plant operations. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate a front-end loader to move, load, and transport sand and other materials within the plant.
Communicate with the scale operator to ensure the proper loading of outgoing trucks in regards to weight and type of sand.
Ensure proper loading of materials into hoppers and conveyors.
Maintain a steady feed of material to processing equipment.
Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance (specifically grease fittings, change air filters, and ensure loader is fueled) on equipment to ensure safe operation.
Clear all sand from the hopper at the end of the production run.
Ensure the plant and warehouse area is ready for production and areas are free of debris, and organized by sand type for each designated area.
Will be required to help shovel sand daily as needed.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor the material quality and report any inconsistencies or contamination.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, including roads, stockpiles, and equipment zones.
Assist with plant maintenance, repairs, and other tasks as needed.
Communicate with plant supervisors, truck drivers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Attend safety meetings and meetings of priority as required by the Foreman, Safety Manager, and Plant Manager.
May perform additional assignments as necessary.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must have experience operating a front-end loader (certification preferred but not required).
Knowledge of sand plant operations and material handling is a plus.
Strong understanding of workplace safety and heavy equipment operation guidelines.
Ability to work in outdoor environments, including exposure to dust, heat, and cold.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials as required.
Good communication skills and teamwork mindset.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed. Must have mechanical knowledge
Must be able to read equipment operating manual
Must be able to wear all required safety equipment
Must be able to communicate with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding the movement of vehicles and mobile equipment
Must be service-oriented with proven ability to work in a TEAM environment
Must be able to follow instructions as well as make some independent decisions
Must be able to perform duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Requirements
This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and half mask respirator
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders on a repetitive basis
Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift 50 lbs from ground to waist level on a repetitive basis
Must work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, SAND and noisy conditions
Must be able to work at various heights
Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controls
Possess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 50 feet
