Position Summary The Dietary Assistant is responsible for maintaining the food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition. This individual will also be heavily involved serving quality food in a timely manner while maintaining the elegance, grace and dignity of each resident.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains kitchen and dining area in a safe and sanitary condition for self, residents and others

Performs food preparation and food service duties as required according to facility guidelines and the current standards of practice

Responds to resident dietary requests in a positive and cooperative manner

Assists residents by providing a restaurant-style atmosphere

Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Food service experience preferred

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Must have appropriate food handler's permit

Must enjoy working with seniors

Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiries

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, grasp, handle, kneel, pull, push, stoop, squat, twist and transfer

Frequently required to lift 50 pounds

Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms

Frequently required to talk and hear

The noise level in the work environment can be quite loud
