Job Summary Cataloochee Ski Area is looking for a skilled IT Generalist to join our team and manage the technology infrastructure that drives our operations. This role involves installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various technical systems and equipment. Additionally, you will provide training and support for essential software to ensure our team operates efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Systems Administration: Manage domain environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and user permissions.
Tech Support: Provide hands-on support and remote assistance for end-users, ensuring quick resolutions for technical issues.
Vendor Collaboration: Work with external vendors and software developers to resolve tech issues and implement new solutions.
Documentation: Keep the IT system documentation up-to-date, including any protocol changes and security patching.
Compliance: Ensure smooth operations and compliance with protocols.
Project Coordination: Track, manage, and ensure the timely completion of projects and tasks, staying organized and proactive.
Equipment Handling: Install, configure, and repair tech equipment using tools (drills and impact drivers) following safety guidelines.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Promote a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and respect across all departments.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar IT Generalist role.
Expertise in Windows 10/11 and Windows Server operating systems, including hardware troubleshooting.
Experience with printer setup, diagnostics, and maintenance.
Familiarity with Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) and DHCP administration. Knowledge of wireless networks, including protocols, access points, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Drive, and data backup solutions (on-premises and cloud).
Understanding of network video surveillance systems and switch configurations (VLANs, trunk ports, Power over Ethernet).
Knowledge of network security, including encryption, antivirus, and network segmentation.
Ability to handle hardware lifecycle management Ability to make Ethernet cable terminations.
Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or man lifts.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Experience/Special Skills
Expertise in security hardening and remediation practices.
Proficiency in TCP/IP, DHCP, and FortiGate firewall configuration and maintenance.
Familiarity with managing firewall rules, routing, access control, and logging policies.
Experience with Ubiquiti products and their management platforms.
Administering experience with enterprise-level antivirus Software and VoIP systems
Familiarity with POS and credit card reader systems.
