Job Summary
We are seeking a full time Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will gather and document information about clients for their doctors’ visits. Responsibilities include printing lab reports, completing summaries of treatment sessions, charting doctor’s appointments, and operating electronic health records among other clinical and administrative duties.
Work Hours Office hours are 9 am to 6 pm (or until the last patient is discharged) Monday through Thursday - half days on the second Saturday and third Friday of each month on a rotation with other MA's. Work hours would be 8:30 am until the last patient is discharged. Medical Assistants rotate the second Saturday and third Friday of every month. Half day Saturdays and Fridays are mandatory - working hours are 9 am to 1 pm with one MA and one provider.
Responsibilities
Documenting patients’ visits by taking notes and entering them in the electronic health records system.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and comprehensive patient documentation.
Coordinate with doctors to complete and submit medical records.
Communicate professionally with patients, doctors, and healthcare staff.
Complete administrative tasks as requested.
Perform the following medical procedures/tests (willing train the right candidate):
Patient intake - vitals, medical history, previous vaccinations, ect.
Allergy scratch and intradermal tests
Spirometry
IM and Intramuscular injections (allergy shots, biologics and limited vaccinations)
Nebulizer treatments
Patient education
Various other tasks could include (depending on staffing and scheduled patient appt count):
Administrative duties - enter lab results, review diagnostic testing results and pull records from other EMR's for patient appointments.
Cross train with medical reception to be ready to help out during busy times.
Prescription refills.
Triage.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Medical terminology
Ability to take detailed notes and accurate documentation.
Strong computer and transcription skills
Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
Highly organized with excellent time-management skills
Ability to work well under pressure.
BCLS Certified
We are a small, busy private practice. We have one physician and three mid-level providers. We do not offer health benefits - however - we do offer PTO (structured to hours scheduled) and holiday pay/office closure pay after initial 90 day probationary period. Opportunity for advancement and a GREAT work family environment. Federal holidays are not required. Pay rate negotiable and based on experience and knowledge.
