Job Summary We are seeking a licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will diagnose and treat psychological disorders, teach communication skills, assist patients in addressing dysfunctional behaviors, and guide them through crises. Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessments:
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to understand clients’ mental health issues, history, and goals.
Use diagnostic tools and clinical interviews to evaluate the nature and severity of the client's condition.
Therapeutic Intervention:
Provide individual, couples, family, or group therapy sessions.
Utilize various therapeutic techniques and approaches (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, etc.).
Tailor treatment plans to meet each client’s needs, goals, and concerns.
Treatment Planning:
Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients’ assessments, ensuring alignment with their goals.
Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
Crisis Intervention:
Provide immediate support during emergencies or crisis situations (e.g., self-harm, suicidal ideation, or severe anxiety).
Implement strategies to ensure client safety and manage high-risk behaviors.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date client records and documentation in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
Complete treatment notes, progress reports, and case reviews.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, etc.) to provide comprehensive care.
Provide referrals when necessary for additional services like medication management or specialized care.
Education & Support:
Educate clients about their conditions and treatment options.
Offer coping strategies, stress management techniques, and skills for personal growth.
Ethical & Legal Compliance:
Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice set by regulatory bodies (e.g., APA, ACA, NASW).
Maintain client confidentiality and practice within the scope of licensure.
Qualifications
State Active Licensure (LGPC, LPC, LCPC, LGSW, LICSW) (DC, MD, VA)
Previous experience as a mental health therapist preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized
