    ABOUT THE ROLE

    This is a Full Time, Non-Exempt position and reports to the Manager, K-12 Initiatives & Mentoring.

    Schedule: The schedule for this position will be determined based on program needs and availability.

    Location: The role will primarily be based at the Elev8 Baltimore office, with occasional travel to school sites and community events.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    As the Mentor Program Assistant, you are an essential team member responsible for the overall recruitment, placement, and training of mentors to support Elev8 partner schools. This position will provide guidance and support to Mentoring Site Coordinators in coordination with program leadership team to promote opportunities for children, youth, and community engagement.

    The Elev8 Baltimore mentoring collaboration with Baltimore City Community Schools is a dynamic program designed to address attendance challenges and promote academic accountability in students enrolled in Tier 2 and 3 schools. By providing comprehensive support, guidance, and opportunities, this program aims to elevate students' educational experience, boost attendance rates, and foster a culture of success. The Mentor Program Assistant will meet program objectives and goals through strategic partnerships with mentors, community-based organizations, faith community and educational institutions.

    Responsibilities: Program Oversight and Support:

    Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations to establish mentor recruitment pipelines and enhance program visibility.

    Collaborate with program leadership to conduct screenings and interviews with prospective mentors, ensuring alignment with program goals, values and mentoring site assignments.

    Assist with development and implement strategies to recruit mentors, including outreach events, networking opportunities, and targeted campaigns.

    Develop and facilitate mentor and school staff onboarding, offering ongoing professional development through training sessions and coaching initiatives.

    Support Site Coordinators with implementation of mentor retention strategies, including recognition programs, ongoing communication, and opportunities for professional development.

    Collaborate on the evaluation of the effectiveness of existing mentoring program curricula, measurables, and instructional designs, ensuring alignment with best practices and educational objectives.

    Lead efforts to revise and enhance instructional designs, incorporating innovative and evidence-based practices to optimize mentor-mentee interactions.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Communication and Documentation

    Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.

    Maintain all required documentation.

    Review and provide support to maintain accurate and timely documentation in Elev8 systems.

    Prepare reports for program, partners and funding sources.

    Agency/Team Cohesion

    Responsible for attending mandatory departmental meetings.

    Attend agency meetings and events.

    Complete required training on time

    Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures.

    Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, or a related field preferred

    Proven experience in program development, particularly in the context of mentorship initiatives.

    Strong understanding of K-12 education dynamics and challenges in urban settings.

    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of data to inform decision-making.

    Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

    Flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude toward mentoring and supporting youth.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

    Compensation: Full-time position offering 40 hours per week at a rate of $23.08/hr.
