Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Waxhaw, NC in finding a Full-Time Nanny for their three children: a 7-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy and a 1.5-year-old girl. The Nanny’s work schedule will typically be Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with additional babysitting needs occasionally requested by the parents. Both Mom and Dad work from home in separate offices. They stay in their offices during the workday and see the kids at lunch. Their children are used to this arrangement.

The best nanny for this family will be extremely reliable and have prior experience caring for various age groups, ranging from toddlers to school-aged children. The family seeks a personable, loving and proactive nanny with strong moral values. Their oldest child goes to school daily and gets home from the bus at 2:15 pm. Their 4-year-old is in daily half-day preschool. Both boys will attend half-day summer camp for most weeks this summer. Their 1.5-year-old will be home daily and does not attend camp or school. The nanny will be primarily responsible for the 1.5-year-old during the morning hours on days when the older children have camp or school. Most afternoons, the nanny will care for all three children. During the school year, the nanny will meet the oldest child at the bus stop each afternoon. The parents will otherwise handle drop-off and pick-up at school and, on rare occasions, may need the nanny’s help with transportation.

The nanny should understand developmental stages, appropriate activities, milestones, nutrition, learning styles and routines. Each day, the nanny should be active with the children. The ideal nanny would love engaging and exploring the outdoors with the children, incorporating Montessori play and principles in their day, and creating activities to do with them throughout the day. They love to be outside and enjoy playing in the yard, going on walks in the neighborhood and on the trail, visiting the playground, playing games, doing arts and crafts, reading and using manipulatives such as Magnatiles. Their oldest son LOVES reading on his own, playing sports (esp. basketball), Legos and Star Wars. Their younger son has fun with Transformers, Legos, cooking and baking. Their daughter enjoys sensory play, pretend play, stuffed animals and dancing. The family is looking for a nanny who will engage the children in these and other age-appropriate activities to stimulate their growth and development. The parents are also open to the nanny taking the children on parent-approved outings, like parks, playgrounds, museums, classes for children and other fun community activities.

It is important that the nanny is dedicated to building a strong connection with each child. Forming a bond of mutual trust and respect is the foundation of the family's parenting philosophy. They practice gentle/respectful/positive parenting and would like their nanny to be familiar with these approaches and willing to follow their guidelines for managing the children's behavior. Time outs, yelling, rewards/bribes and punishment are not used in this home; instead, the caregivers emphasize connection and emotional support paired with firm boundaries and natural consequences. The family respects their children as growing individuals capable of demonstrating age-appropriate behaviors.
