    Private Special Needs Care Provider/Household Assistant in Newton, MA – $54,600-$72,800 Annually

    Private special needs care provider needed on a full time basis for a family in Newton, MA, with a loving and musical 20-year-old girl with special needs. Looking for someone who is active, responsible and flexible. A true team player is needed in this wonderful young woman's development!

    Ideal candidate would be:

    • A natural care provider able to connect well
    • Engaging, musical, and creative
    • Comfortable with providing full and/or partial hygiene assistance
    • Physically active and strong
    • Appreciative of holistic oriented health care and education
    • Adaptable, patient and attentive to details of the teen's overall needs
    • Experienced in supporting ongoing learning for young adults with developmental challenges

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • •Assistance with all personal hygiene and daily living tasks/care, meal and supplement preparation
    • Developmentally appropriate play
    • Maintaining safety
    • Assisting in transporting to and from appointments and activities
    • Biweekly written observations related to teen’s ongoing learning process
    • Fostering a learning environment and independence in keeping with educational approach used by family.
    • Errands, keeping inventory of food, supplement, personal and household supplies, grocery shopping, and other light household tasks & projects
    • Performing job responsibilities both locally and when traveling with the family

    CNAs, Home Health Aides, and those with nursing background or in the education field with demonstrated experience in working with children and young adults with special needs are encouraged to apply.

    Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour

    Benefits: Available and Negotiable

    Full Time: 35-40+ hours per week

    Weekly Schedule: Some shifts/times may vary pending family needs and are arranged per mutual agreement

    • Sundays 6+ hour shifts (option for 1 Sunday off per month)
    • Mondays 12:30PM -10:00PM
    • Tuesdays 9:00AM- 7:30PM
    • Wednesdays 9:00AM- 7:30PM
    • Thursdays 12:45PM-10:15PM

    Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle
    • Ability to travel with the family as needed
    • Ability to work overtime hours (planned)
    • Sunday availability (option for 1 Sunday shift off per month)
    • Flexibility to work some legal holidays
