Job Title: Full-Time Seasonal Field Manager
40hrs/week March 31, 2025 – November 1, 2025
Position Summary:
The Seasonal Field Manager leads staff and volunteers in conducting fieldwork on a 5-acre production vegetable farm in variable weather conditions. The Field Manager works with and trains volunteers of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Position is full-time seasonal March 31st through November 1st.
Essential Functions:
Engage in field preparation, cultivation and harvesting of crops.
Plant, tend, monitor crop growth
Transport, store, and record yields.
Assist with orientation, education, and recruitment of volunteers.
Identify and correct potential safety issues.
Maintain equipment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working on farms.
Ability to engage and instruct non-farm workers in harvesting techniques.
Ability to create an instructional, positive, and productive environment for volunteer workers.
Experience working with tractors and other mechanical equipment preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions (including heat and humidity) for long periods of time.
Required to stoop, kneel, open containers, and shovel materials.
Ability to work safely with various organically certified materials including fertilizers in dry, liquid, spray, and powder forms.
Ability to work in conditions that create dirt, dust, pollen.
Schedule
Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm. Once a month, watering duties and half day of volunteer management on Saturday 9am to noon.
Volunteer days are Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays 9am to 11am, and 2pm to 4pm. Field Manager will be expected to help manage volunteers one Saturday a month from 9am to noon.
In case of extreme heat, schedule is subject to change to avoid heat related illness.

Compensation for days off is not provided for seasonal staff, however, the Field Manager is welcome to request unpaid time off with adequate communication with Farm Director.
