Job Overview:
The Functional Subject Matter Expert will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of Windows environments for government operations. The contractor will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of the Windows infrastructure. This position involves a blend of technical expertise, strategic implementation, and knowledge transfer to government staff. Other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Windows Infrastructure
- Must hold a Top-secret clearance and be willing to sit for a CI Polygraph
- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and integrating Windows environments, including active directory, group policy, multifactor authentication, DNS, DHCP and digital certificates
- Experience in developing architecture for scalable and secure Windows infrastructures tailored for government operations
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Windows Deployment Services for deploying bare-metal and virtual machines
- Skilled in configuring and maintaining Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 environments
- Extensive experience in creating security baselines in accordance with DISA STIGS for various Windows server versions
- Ability to ensure compliance with federal security standards and best practices in IT security
- Strong capability to produce detailed technical documentation, including build guides, engineering documentation, and user manuals
- Experience in developing standardized procedures for system deployment and maintenance
- Expertise in installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems and application software
- Ability to monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions collaboratively with development teams
- In-depth understanding of information security principles, including backup and redundancy strategies, as well as proactive risk assessment
- Experience implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive government data and ensure system integrity
- Proven experience in providing 4th level support, including diagnosing complex system issues and developing recovery processes
- Familiarity with using both native and third-party tools for troubleshooting and optimizing system performance
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell for writing custom scripts to automate system management tasks and enhance operational efficiency
- Experience in developing automation solutions that reduce manual intervention and streamline processes
- Experience liaising with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution and system integration
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across teams to ensure project success
- Proven experience in training technical staff and government personnel on system operations, best practices, and new technologies
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative environment through knowledge sharing and mentorship
