    Principle Responsibilities / Position Purpose

    The Hospitality Merchandiser works in the merchandise sales area of our tap room and acts as the first and last point of contact for our guests. The Hospitality Merchandiser greets and works closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right solutions, being able to promptly resolve guest complaints and ensure maximum guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, hardworking, reliable, and able to take charge in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a welcoming disposition.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Act as a first point of contact for guests visiting our tap room and guide them through the Funky Buddha experience
    • Set a warm, welcoming tone as you greet and guide customers
    • Inform guests of any sales, specials (including limited release beers) or new merchandise offered and assist them with their selections
    • Conduct beer samplings on a regular frequency
    • Act as a source for brewery knowledge for our customers
    • Positively represent Funky Buddha Brewery and its values
    • Maintain front entrance and cleanliness
    • Provide professional and accurate information to guests and coworkers
    • Provide excellent customer service to both walk-in and telephone guests
    • Possess the ability to work with several guests at one time, while maintaining individual customer satisfaction
    • Keep merchandise area and drink cooler displays clean, organized, stocked and visually appealing
    • Use POS to accept cash and credit card payments and keep the cash register totals accurate
    • Execute inventory process as scheduled
    • Reduce loss by maintaining a watchful eye on the merchandise and process accurate transactions
    • Facilitate and help organize brewery tours, as well as set-up and staging of special events
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities
    • Maintain responsible service of alcohol standards
    • Support FOH side work when needed (example, rolling silverware)
    • This list is not exhaustive and job functions are subject to change to accommodate changing business needs
    • Strong knowledge of restaurant/tap room operations and service procedures.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
    • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Punctual and regular, reliable attendance.
    • Honesty and Integrity.
    • Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively.

    • Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard, high level of self-awareness and long-term view of success.
    • Experience with using a POS system.
    • Must be at least 18 years old.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • One to two years of experience in restaurant environment, preferably in host position.
    • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (must have flexible schedule)
    • Effective communication skills and ability to maintain composure in high stress environment.
    • Commitment to deliver an outstanding customer experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • General knowledge and enthusiasm for craft beer

    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

    OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:

    • Safety goggles when walking through the Production area

    Employees will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. Funky Buddha Brewery provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to your manager.

    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

    EDUCATION

    High School diploma preferred.

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

    No special licenses or certificates required.

    GROOMING

    All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

    Additional language ability preferred.
