    We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented Furniture Warehouse Clerk to join our team. In this position you will support the warehouse operations in handling, organizing, inspecting and managing inventory in a warehouse that receives and delivers furniture. This role includes receiving shipments, maintaining accurate data entry records, and ensuring all furniture is received in good condition. The Warehouse Clerk assists with quality control and inspection, warehouse organization, and other customer service tasks while adhering to safety and operational guidelines. The ideal candidate is a team player with experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, that can multi-task while staying focused and productive; customer service oriented, fine attention to detail, as well as experience using spreadsheet or inventory management software.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    These essential duties are the core functions of the role.

    Follow safety guidelines for lifting, stacking, and handling furniture pieces

    Maintain accurate inventory records by means of data entry and paperwork scanning in the warehouse management system online or on the computer

    Receive, inspect, and record incoming furniture shipments to ensure accuracy

    Actively participate in a collaborative team environment, or "all-hands" moving approach, always willing to cross-train across departments in a small team warehouse

    Assist in communicating via email or phone with clients, freight/shipping companies, and vendors to report received items, updated warehouse locations, damaged items, and missing items

    Act as a point of contact for client, freight/shipping company, and vendor inquiries related to incoming orders and shipments and order received statuses

    Assist with tracking received and outgoing shipments, update incoming/outgoing inventory, and ensure accurate and proper documentation

    Assist with returns and damaged product processing, documenting defects or shipping issues

    For damaged items, assist in obtaining appropriate photos necessary of the damage to assist clients in initiating the claims process, notifying clients in a timely manner via e-mail or phone

    Assist in addressing client customer service-related concerns or complaints about warehouse operations through proactive problem-solving. Escalate issues to the owners/operations managers only when the matter remains unresolved after all standard troubleshooting steps have been exhausted

    Assist in resolving inventory and receiving discrepancies by identifying solutions and coordinating with clients, freight/shipping companies, and/or vendors as necessary to ensure timely resolution

    Assist in coordinating and scheduling white glove deliveries with designers and clients

    Assist in coordinating and scheduling warehouse pickup requests with designer/client and collaborate with appropriate warehouse team member to have items pulled and staged

    Assist in handling new client inquiries

    Secondary Responsibilities:

    These are tasks and responsibilities that are not the primary focus of this role. These are to be performed as needed to support business operations.

    Ensure cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and grounds

    Assist in conducting periodic inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy

    Assist in loading and unloading of freight shipments

    Assist with special projects as they arise

    Job responsibilities may change periodically based on the needs of the business

    Skill Requirements:

    High attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory tracking, data entry, and quality control

    1+ years in a warehouse or logistics role (preferably in furniture handling)

    Experience with inventory software such as Apple Numbers or Microsoft Excel; or WMS preferred

    Understanding of proper lifting techniques and warehouse safety regulations.

    Excellent communication skills with ability to work well in a team-focused workplace

    High School Diploma

    Highly proficient in using technology/computers and with typing (experience with Apple MAC-OS a plus)

    Ability to work with limited supervision

    Reliable with good work ethic

    Excellent time management skills

    Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task

    Excellent customer service skills

    Must be a U.S. Citizen

    Must be able to speak English

    Forklift Certification is a plus but not required

    Minimum Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time for the majority of work shift

    Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull or maneuver items weighing up to 100 lbs, with or without Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or use of another person to assist

    Frequent bending, squatting, stooping & kneeling required for receiving and identifying pieces, handling inventory, scanning packages (when applicable), or organizing stock

    Frequent use of fingers, hands and arms for typing, writing, use of mouse, handling packages, scanning labels (when applicable), and using online warehouse management systems (WMS)

    Ability to tolerate warehouse environment without central AC/heat with exposure to varying temperatures including extreme heat or cold, or very dry or humid conditions

    Ability to tolerate warehouse environment with common hazards such as travel of forklift, order picker, or other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and the movement of people and furniture items of all sizes on a frequent basis with moderate to high noise levels

    Pay Range: $16 - $17 per hour, depending on experience, paid weekly

    Job Type: Part-time to full-time, depending on volume of business

    Schedule: Normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm; 30-minute paid lunch break daily; off Saturdays and Sundays; opportunities for additional hours or over time may be available on occasion as needed, with manager approval. We are closed on major holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

    Benefits:

    After 90 days of full-time employment, OFF + PAID on major holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. Ancillary insurance benefits to include Dental, Vision, Life, Short-term Disability, and Critical Illness offered after 90 days of full-time employment.
