    Job Description

    A very fast-growing, leading innovator in AI-driven solutions and conversational technology is seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform DevSecOps Engineer to join their team.     Role Overview

    The GCP DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer will oversee and optimize the infrastructure and security operations. This role demands expertise in managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cloud platforms and a deep understanding of performance optimization, cost management, compliance, and security practices. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with onshore and offshore teams to maintain, secure, and enhance the reliability of our systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • DevOps and SecOps Management * Manage and optimize DevOps pipelines and security operations to ensure seamless and secure workflows. * Automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management processes.
    • Performance Optimization * ​​​​​​​ Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across GCP assets, including databases. * Proactively monitor system performance and implement tuning measures to improve efficiency.
    • Cost Management * ​​​​​​​ Analyze resource utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities. * Implement and monitor ongoing cost optimization strategies across GCP and associated systems.
    • Security and Vulnerability Management * ​​​​​​​ Stay ahead of penetration testing results and other security vulnerability assessments. * Implement necessary patches, configurations, and updates to mitigate risks.
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) * ​​​​​​​ Conduct thorough RCAs for incidents and ensure timely resolution of action items.
    • Compliance Oversight * ​​​​​​​ Understand SOC2 and GDPR requirements and collaborate with compliance systems to maintain certifications. * Work closely with compliance teams to address audit findings and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
    • Proactive Monitoring and Troubleshooting * ​​​​​​​ Continuously monitor infrastructure and applications to identify and resolve issues promptly. * Implement monitoring tools to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
    • Access and Permissions Management * ​​​​​​​ Provision and manage user permissions on GCP and other database platforms securely and efficiently.
    • Patch Management * ​​​​​​​ Ensure timely application of patches and updates across all GCP resources to maintain security and compliance.
    • Collaboration with Offshore Teams * ​​​​​​​ Coordinate and collaborate with offshore teams to ensure smooth operation and support of infrastructure and applications.
    • Application Monitoring and Support * ​​​​​​​ Monitor application performance, address support tickets, and provide reliable application support to stakeholders.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Proven experience managing GCP DevOps and SecOps
    • Strong understanding of deploying and managing workloads/microservices on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
    • Strong understanding of database performance optimization and troubleshooting.
    • Expertise in cost analysis and implementation of cloud cost-saving measures.
    • Solid knowledge of penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
    • Familiarity with SOC2 and GDPR compliance requirements and maintaining certifications.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including RCA methodologies.
    • Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Stackdriver, Datadog, or similar.
    • Proficiency in managing access controls and permissions for cloud and database platforms.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially in working with distributed teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional certifications such as Google Cloud Certified, CISSP, or similar.
    • Understanding of programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or PHP.
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
    • Knowledge of modern security tools and frameworks.
