    Gainesville 4 All Inc. is now accepting applications for executive director of the Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Learning Center, which will serve families with children from six weeks old to age 5.

    Salary range --$60,000 to $70,000

    Job Description:

    The Executive Director will oversee the daily operations and administration of the preschool. The candidate must be experienced in the field of early childhood development. The director’s responsibilities will include recruitment of staff, property maintenance, marketing and communication, and financial management.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    Operation Responsibilities:

    Responsible for administering the day-to-day operation of the preschool in accordance with the policies and procedures established by The Family Learning Center, Early Learning Coalition of Alachua County, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the MOU with Alachua County Public Schools.

    Supervise Early Learning Coalition monthly records.

    Supervise USDA monthly records.

    Create and update an Emergency Procedures Handbook.

    Ensure the safety and security of all students and staff.

    Foster partnerships with community, civic, and governmental organizations.

    Foster relationships with community schools.

    Staffing Responsibilities:

    Create and update a Personnel/Staff Handbook

    Develop an orientation process and training schedule for new staff.

    Interview candidates, make recommendations to fill positions, and hire all staff.

    Supervise and evaluate all staff members with input from other administration team.

    Design and conduct monthly staff meetings with assistance from administration team.

    Maintain a positive, inclusive, diverse work environment.

    Ensure all staff records are maintained in accordance with DCF mandates including background screening, professional development, and higher education.

    Participate in training staff in the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards Birth to Kindergarten.

    Participate in training staff in the MMCI Class requirements.

    Participate in training staff in all student assessment instruments.

    Participate in training staff in HighScope Curriculum.

    Participate in training staff in Pyramid Model Curriculum.

    Support staff when conducting individual parent conferences and student assessments.

    Ensure all registration, enrollment, attendance, and safety mandates are followed by staff.

    Family Responsibilities:

    Create and update parent handbooks for The Family Learning Center.

    Develop an orientation process for incoming families.

    Ensure all student records are maintained in accordance with DCF mandates.

    Work with the Family Engagement Specialist to coordinate and facilitate all parental involvement activities throughout the school year. This will include parent coffee hours, parent meetings and special events.

    Build relationships with family members.

    Schedule parent conferences a minimum of two times a year.

    Develop a process to help families transition to Elementary School

    Support the dads’ group.

    Ensure all registration, enrollment, attendance, and safety mandates are followed by parents.

    Fiscal Responsibilities:

    Create and update Financial Rules and Regulations policies.

    Prepare annual budget and reports for the Board of Directors and all funding agencies.

    Work with the bookkeeper and auditor to maintain accurate records.

    Submit biweekly payroll hours to bookkeeper.

    Seek grant opportunities.

    Oversee grant funding is spent within the grant guidelines.

    Participate in Fundraising efforts.

    Job Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or Elementary Education

    Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing an accredited childcare center

    Valid Florida Directors’ Credential with a VPK Endorsement

    Skill Requirements

    Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint

    Thorough understanding of a childcare center day to day operation

    Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
