    Job Description

    AECOM’s Technology Solutions Department within our Water Business Line is actively seeking a creative, self-motivated, highly talented GIS Specialist to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established progressive career in GIS and Information Technology. This position will provide technical GIS support and coordination on a wide range of enterprise GIS and digital projects and programs across the region.

    Additionally, you will have the ability to assist in managing project tasks and project teams to support ongoing projects and quality control. The ideal candidate will need to thrive in an oftentimes fast-paced environment, have attention to detail, and possess a broad range of GIS skills and QA/QC capabilities.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Utilize GIS to produce, display, and analyze spatial information
    • Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping utilizing GIS data
    • Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
    • Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated components
    • Use concepts, practices and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
    • Lead project specific tasks while working closely with project team to meet client deadlines
    • Maintain an effective and frequent line of communication amongst team members and clients
    • Data collection, creation, conversion, and editing
    • Gather and review technical requirements to meet project goals and implement quality assurance procedures
    • Follow project plans to successfully execute assigned work
    • Work with the AECOM team lead to ensure quality in all work products
    • Maintain quality assurance of spatial and non-spatial data and processes as per defined standards
    • Maintain strong knowledge in existing and emerging GIS related software and technologies
    • Create and maintain GIS data in an ArcGIS Enterprise environment
    • Apply attention to detail with proactive and resourceful problem-solving skills
    • Communicating and collaborating with the project manager and project team lead to understand and document system/solution requirements
    • Organize, document, and communicate status updates to program leads and relevant project teams
    • Have excellent critical thinking, decision-making, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements :

    • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field and 2+ years of progressive GIS analysis and work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficient in ArcGIS -Esri suite of software including ArcGIS Server, ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, with specific experience programming those products using the Python API for ArcGIS or ArcPy.
    • Develop tools, scripts and workflows to automate and streamline mapping, data management and geoprocessing tasks
    • Automation of Geoprocessing tools using Python and familiarity with Microsoft.NET.
    • Understanding of the fundamentals of Web GIS, Server, ArcGIS client interoperations
    • Understanding of relational databases and Geodatabase technology.
    • Strong understanding of spatial data
    • Geodatabase management experience for data operations, including setup, schema, domains, relationship classes, and topology rules
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced team environment
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Develop web maps (AGOL, ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect, review project data, and maintain online services
    • Experience working on environmental/natural resources and water resources projects
