    Job Description

    As a student intern with our Applied Technology team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you understand how an engineering firm uses GIS in various markets and disciplines. You’ll be part of a team, working with a variety of programs including, but not limited to ArcGIS products and AutoCAD. You’ll get an introduction to Olsson's culture that will help you evaluate our firm as a career choice. You'll utilize internal and external data resources to create maps, analyze data using geoprocessing tools and overlay data based upon project needs.

    You bring to the team:

    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
    • Pursuing a degree in GIS
    • At least one to two years of completed GIS college coursework
    • Proficiency with ArcGIS software
    • Experience with Microsoft 365 products
    • Some knowledge of coding language (ArcPy, Python, Arcade) preferred
    • Familiarity with standard cartographic methods, theories, and principles
    • Familiarity with coordinate systems, map projections, datum’s, standard cartographic methods, theories and principles
    • Strong attention to detail
