The GSE Tech/Mechanic is responsible to provide preventative maintenance, major and minor repairs on all types of motorized and non motorized gas and diesel aviation ground service equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance aviation ground equipment gas and diesel.
Complete preventative maintenance measures as listed in the PMI Manual
Perform simple and complex repairs on vehicles, both electrical and mechanical.
Perform diagnostic procedures on vehicles and equipment to determine repair needs.
Diagnose mechanical issues and provide appropriate solutions
Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Assist line service technicians on ramp as needed
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times
Must be able to speak, read and understand English
Competencies
Ability to interpret printed and computerized maintenance manuals
Familiar with various maintenance tooling, jacks, hoists, and other required tools.
Ability to write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required.
Basic mathematical knowledge
Reporting Relationship This position reports to the GSE Supervisor of Maintenance
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:
Must be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently
Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery
Outside work in all types of weather conditions.
Position requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping and climbing a ladder.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a non-exempt position
Work Hours: M-F 0730-4:30 PM.
Experience, Education, and Eligibility Qualifications
(3) years on the job experience as a GSE preferred / or qualified automotive technician. Willing to train the right person
Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude of diagnostic and troubleshooting
Ground service equipment maintenance experience preferred but not required
Diesel knowledge
DC electrical diagnostic
Must have own hand tools, Shop or specialty tools will be provided
Acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a background check
