Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000 per year depending upon experience
Reports to: Supervising Environmental Geologist or Engineer

GSI Water Solutions, Inc. (GSI), is an employee-owned hydrogeologic and environmental consulting firm headquartered in Portland, Oregon. As hydrogeologists, engineers, environmental scientists, and water experts, we help our clients clean up contaminated sites with remedies that are practical and protective over the long term. We have an established track record of credibility with regulators for providing high quality science, engineering solutions, and innovative approaches to environmental issues. Our environmental work primarily focuses on large scale sediment and upland remediation projects in the Oregon and Washington area.
Our staff-level environmental positions work closely with mid- and senior-level project managers and provide critical technical support in the assessment and remediation of potential environmental hazards. This role collects field data, documents findings, and assists in the research, design and performance of environmental projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. As experience grows, this entry-level position may take on additional responsibilities aimed at developing project management skills.
In this role you will:
Work Environment and Physical Demands
GSI offers a hybrid work schedule to our staff with flexible work hours. The ideal candidate will be available to work in the Portland office a minimum of two days per week. Project deadlines may require working long hours from time-to-time.
Approximately 50% of time will be spent traveling for field work and meetings. Travel will typically be conducted within an approximately two-hour drive, although at times may be further away. Overnight stay may be required.
Fieldwork activities may include exposure to various environmental conditions, including inclement weather, extreme temperatures, rugged terrain and potential exposure to hazardous materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required for field activities to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Fieldwork activities may involve lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and bending, stooping, and walking over uneven terrain.
