    Location: 6103 Eagleridge ln, Flint Mi 48505 Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm Pay: $15-$18 depending on qualifications and experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

    Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.

    Current TB test.

    Certification in Bloodborne Pathogen training.

    CPR and First Aid certification.

    Willingness to complete and update required professional development hours.

    Additional qualifications may be required based on program changes.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Classroom Instruction & Management:

    Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and delivering lesson plans following the HighScope Curriculum.

    Support children in small-group and individualized learning activities.

    Utilize audiovisual teaching aids to enhance learning experiences.

    Assist in managing student behavior and fostering a positive classroom environment.

    Actively engage with children in both indoor and outdoor activities.

    Arrive on time daily to set up the classroom according to the Lead Teacher’s plan.

    Escort children to and from activities as directed.

    Supervise and assist children in the restroom and with clothing changes as needed.

    Help children plan and review their daily activities in alignment with the curriculum.

    Report and/or refer all conversations with parents/guardians to the Lead Teacher.

    Maintain and organize classroom materials and ensure a clean and safe environment.

    Disinfect the classroom regularly to maintain health and safety standards.

    Assist the Lead Teacher during home visits and classroom field trips.

    Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

    Record Keeping:

    Prepare materials and resources for lessons.

    Assist in administering and grading assignments.

    Support attendance tracking and meal count documentation.

    Take anecdotal notes on children's progress and record observations in the Preschool Child Observation Record (COR).

    Behavior Management & Student Support:

    Reinforce classroom rules and encourage positive behavior.

    Maintain order in the classroom and on the playground.

    Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Lead Teacher.

    Provide emotional and academic support to students as needed.

    Participate in family-style meals with children.

    Supervise student drop-off and pick-up procedures.

    Utilize positive, developmentally appropriate discipline methods that align with HighScope’s conflict resolution approach.
