    Position: 45 Hour DCF Credential, CDA Credential Level (Infant/Toddler Only) AA/S Degree Level

    Supervisor: Site Manager

    2 Yr Old Co-Teacher Role: We are seeking a caring, energetic Co-Teacher to join our 2-year-old classroom. As a co-teacher, you will partner with the lead teacher to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports each child’s growth and school readiness. Working under the guidance of the Site Manager and in collaboration with the Leadership Team, you will help provide high-quality educational experiences for children and their families.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    Meet all current GEZFLC, state and local child care employee regulations; including First Aid and CPR. Complete a minimum of 20 clock hours of professional development (age group specific) per year.

    Education and Experience:

    Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and experience working with children birth - five years old.

    Accepted: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and experience working with children birth - five years old.

    Accepted Infant/Toddler: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential; State Equivalency.

    Skills, Knowledge and Ability: Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

    Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and organizational skills.

    Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

    Must meet all GEZFLC, state, and local child care regulations, including First Aid and CPR certification.

    Completion of at least 20 clock hours of professional development (age-group specific) per year.

    Working Conditions: GEZFLC center environment; flexible work hours occasional (evening/ weekend/overtime). Work outside a minimum of one (1) hour per day in varying weather conditions. Lunch will vary depending on the needs of the center.

    Physical Requirements: Physically able to perform tasks, including but not limited to, bending, lifting and moving a minimum of 25 pounds.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Classroom Collaboration

    Work alongside the Lead Teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate, engaging activities for 2-year-olds.

    Assist in maintaining an organized, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.

    Provide individual attention to children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

    Child Supervision and Safety

    Maintain active supervision at all times, ensuring a safe learning environment.

    Follow all health and safety guidelines, keeping the classroom and outdoor play areas clean and free from hazards.

    Adhere to center protocols for emergencies, including evacuation and drill procedures.

    Positive Classroom Culture

    Model respectful communication and positive guidance strategies.

    Encourage cooperation, sharing, and respect among children to build strong social-emotional foundations.

    Communication and Teamwork

    Communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality with families, colleagues, and community partners.

    Support a positive work culture by collaborating closely with fellow staff members and leadership.

    Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and other required center activities.

    Recordkeeping

    Assist with daily attendance records and other required documentation.

    Contribute to children’s developmental assessments, maintaining accurate and timely records.

    Professional Growth

    Attend pre-service, in-service, and ongoing professional development sessions as required.

    Follow an individualized Professional Development Plan to continually improve teaching practices.

    General Maintenance

    Help maintain a clean and welcoming facility, including light tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.

    Assist in managing classroom supplies and materials to ensure a well-prepared learning environment.

    Additional Duties

    Perform other tasks as assigned by the Site Manager or Executive Director to ensure smooth daily operations and a high-quality educational experience for children.

    Communication and Collaboration

    Maintain a professional attitude with open communication and support a positive environment in the center to promote the social, emotional and mental wellness of staff, children and families. Model acceptable social behavior; encourage sharing and cooperation among children and staff.

    Communicate respectfully and maintain standards of confidentiality with all children, families, staff and community representatives.

    Advocate for children and families.

    Attend parent meetings as required.

    Recordkeeping and Recording

    Assist Team Leader with keeping daily Attendance Records

    Professional Development

    Attend and participate in pre-service, in-service and other trainings as requested/approved by supervisor.

    Attend training according to Professional Development Plan.

    Attend and participate in all staff meetings and other required meetings.
