Established family/urgent care practice with three offices has part-time opportunities available. We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated Gap Year Medical Students to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent pre-med graduate to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical medicine and be eager to take on new challenges. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our medical team.
Must be available to work flexible hours and rotating weekends. The successful candidate enjoys interacting with patients and is meticulous about their work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare patients for medical visit in examination room
Verify patient information by briefly interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
Perform preliminary tests – take vitals, weight, temperature; perform EKG when necessary
Perform COVID testing; collect other specimens for lab testing (e.g. urine samples, flu swabs, strep tests)
Input correct diagnoses in EMR
Assist physicians with exams and procedures
Call or fax prescriptions to pharmacies
Change dressings
Clean and maintain instruments and medical equipment
Obtain authorizations for patients when necessary
The ideal candidate:
Is caring, competent, and reliable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi- task.
Has competency using computer systems and software.
Has at least 1 year experience with EMR Systems. NextGen EHR experience is preferred but not required.
Has some phlebotomy experience. Preferred but not required.
Has some vaccination experience (flu, hepatitis B, TdaP, etc) a plus. Preferred but not required.
Has strong attention to detail
Is able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
High School Graduate/GED / Equivalent Work or Vocational / Technical School / Diploma, required. Associate Degree’s preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required
Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required
Basic proficiency in computer use, required
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:
5 hour, 6 hour, 10 hour shifts available
Days & Evenings
Rotating weekends/Holidays
Expected hours: 21 – 30 per week
