    Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and professional Garbage Collector (Toter) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, and courteous waste removal services to our valued customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Collect and transport garbage bins from the curbside to the collection vehicle.

    Ensure that waste materials are properly separated and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

    Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of collection vehicles and equipment.

    Report any issues or hazards encountered during the collection process.

    Provide excellent customer service and address any questions or concerns from residents.

    Clean loose trash off the ground around the truck and container that spills during the dumping process to maintain a clean customer site and safety along roads and highways.

    Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests.

    Notify the supervisor of issues requiring management action.

    Follow safe operating practices to ensure proper operation of the collection vehicle.

    Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and standards.

    Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired, but not required.

    Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly.

    Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

    Strong work ethic and reliability.

    Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

    Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

    Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

    Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Previous experience in waste collection or a similar role.

    Familiarity with local waste disposal regulations.

    Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment maintenance.

    Physical/Mental Demands:

    Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell.

    Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.

    Ability to work in usually loud conditions.

    Working Conditions:

    Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rainy/stormy, extreme hot and cold weather conditions (depending on the season), moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.

    Work in an outdoor environment up to 100% of the time.

    Work route away from office location on a continuous basis throughout the day.

    Occasionally work in highly precarious places.

    Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions constantly.

    Work environment is usually loud.
