Job Title: Gardener (Part-Time)

Reports To: Grounds Manager

Job Summary: As a member of the Goodstone Team, you'll enhance our boutique hotel's aesthetic and guest experience by maintaining our gardens and outdoor areas. Your horticulture passion, attention to detail, and creativity will help create a beautiful, welcoming environment. You'll assist the Grounds Manager in keeping the gardens and grounds impeccable, ensuring a great first impression for our guests.

Essential Functions:

Mow lawns, trim hedges, and prune trees and shrubs.

Remove and control weeds.

Plant and care for flowers and seasonal displays.

Monitor and maintain the irrigation system, repairing leaks as needed.

Assess soil quality and apply fertilizers.

Address garden pests and diseases with eco-friendly methods.

Suggest garden design improvements.

Assist with seasonal garden displays and decorations.

Remove leaves and clear snow in fall and winter.

Follow safety guidelines and promote eco-friendly practices.

Preferred Education and Experience:

At least 3 years of experience and/or a landscape/ornamental horticulture degree or certification.

Knowledge of various plant species, garden maintenance techniques, and irrigation systems.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and kneeling.

Methodical and well-managed working methods to ensure all priority areas are maintained and well-presented throughout the week.

Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Physical Demands: This job requires regular talking and hearing, standing for long periods, walking, climbing stairs, using hands for various tasks, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
