    **Position Overview: **

    The Gastroenterology NP will be responsible for evaluating and managing patients by performing detailed histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating individualized treatment plans. This includes diagnosing and treating conditions such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, dysphagia, constipation, diarrhea, GI bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and other GI-related issues.

    Required Skills

    • Perform patient evaluations, including histories, physical exams, and test interpretation.

    • Develop and implement treatment plans with the supervising physician.

    • Diagnose and manage GI disorders using evidence-based care.

    • Prescribe medications and perform GI procedures within licensure.

    • Provide pre- and post-operative care, including education and discharge planning.

    • Conduct hospital rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary care.

    • Deliver patient-centered care focused on optimal outcomes.

    • Participate in quality improvement and professional development.

    Required Experience

    • Current California N.P. certification
    • Master’s degree in nursing with completion of approved nurse practitioner program.
    • Three (3) years related healthcare experience.
    • Evidence of continuing education and self-development
    • BLS certification
    • LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PIHGSH Only)
