    Open to this position being worked from either Dallas, TX or Tulsa/Jenks, OK (Dallas corporate office is located in Dallas at 18583 Dallas Parkway near the intersection of Frankford Road and the North Dallas Tollway) Gateway First Bank is currently on the search for an experienced Mortgage Audit Manager – this person will have worked with the Originations, Servicing, Correspondent and Secondary areas as well as exp with Regulators and Agencies. Will be instrumental in building the audit department and developing audit plans. Must have knowledge of the mortgage process from both the consumer and operations perspectives.     Mortgage Audit Manager JOB SUMMARY:

    The Mortgage Audit Manager is responsible for assignments of internal audit projects and activities, as part of the total internal audit plan. This position’s responsibilities include developing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed. The role is also responsible for performing advanced, specialized auditing work. The auditor should ensure that they are prepared to manage complex audits, perform critical project management duties in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, reviewing and reporting of the work of audit teams; and provide expertise in the auditing standards and performance criteria and audit requirements of mortgage operations.

    Mortgage Audit Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):

    • Performs Internal audits of the Bank’s mortgage activities which includes originations, servicing, and secondary markets in compliance with established guidelines and principles.

    • Audits business processes, interprets policies, procedures, governance practices, and regulatory obligations.

    • Evaluates compliance with laws, policies, procedures, and regulation by comparing operating practices with established norms.

    • Supports the safeguarding of assets by reviewing the internal controls over those assets and verifying the existence of such assets.

    • Conducts internal control assessments, testing, and reports findings to management as well as maintains a Risk and Control Matrix for FDICA/SOX.

    • Works with outsourced internal audit firm to conduct audits plus control testing through research and analyzing data to ensure acceptable documents are prepared in support of the testing and audit reports.

    • Maintains a database of audit findings. Conducts follow up with management to determine the status of remediation of the audit findings.

    • Participates in departmental and employee education in the area of internal controls and policy and in monitoring audit actions taken by management.

    • Maintains knowledge through professional reading, developing professional contacts, attending professional development courses, and attending training courses as required.

    • Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.

    • Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.

    Mortgage Audit Manager REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge/Skill/Ability • Advanced knowledge of Internal Audit policies, processes, and practices. • Solid understanding of the Audit Process. • Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of business needs. • Familiarity with regulatory and operational requirements for financial institutions engaged in lending activities. • Strong communication and investigative skills. • Strong commitment to ethics. • Ability to build consensus and understand variety of issues & perspectives. • Exemplifies the Gateway Values: Growth Oriented, Make a Difference, “Get it Done” Attitude, Team Player, Street Smart

    Equivalent Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Business degree required. • 5 years of internal audit experience with a financial institution or accounting firm with experience auditing Financial Institutions. • Experience with Mortgage Operations Auditing required. • CPA or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.

    Mortgage Audit Manager SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

    Work requires the ability to deal with highly sensitive/confidential/privileged information and matters. Travel may be required (10%).
