Recruitment for Gateway First Bank’s 2021 Summer Intern Program is underway! This year we are hiring two Interns for our North Dallas, TX corporate location at 18583 Dallas Parkway near the intersection of Frankford Road and the North Dallas Tollway. Projects are as follows:
Any Procurement, Accounting or Legal major with intermediate Excel skills: Sitting within Vendor Management, this project is to identify odd trending from a financial perspective that would assist in cost containment and expense management. Day to day this Intern will be utilizing Accounting software to pull the data and then structure the reporting to allow the team to identify the trends. An investigator type personality will enjoy this project, a problem solver who likes to figure out the puzzle!
Any Risk Management or Business/Finance major with intermediate Excel skills: The Risk Management space has several ongoing projects that this Intern will support. One specific project will be focused on the construction of a control testing framework by working with and shadowing our Operational Risk Analyst Team. Operational Risk Management has a primary focus on risks and controls related to people, processes, and technology, so a process oriented individual with critical thinking skills is a must.
Running from June 1 – August 6, this paid Internship offers authentic business world experience in a progressive corporate yet family-oriented environment. Summer Intern JOB SUMMARY:
This internship is designed to provide valuable insight into the mortgage industry and practical working knowledge. An intern will participate in various processes within a selected department and value-added projects. At the end of the internship, a resume reflecting experience gained will be submitted along with a presentation of his/her completed project.
Summer Intern SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
• Gain overview of specific departments including Customer Service, Collections, Human Resources, Escrow, Payment Processing, Cash Reconciliation & Investor Accounting. • Help intern determine college coursework that would assist in a career within mortgage servicing. • Learn how to present new ideas or research to management. • Take ownership of 1-3 value added projects that can be completed within duration of the program. • Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.
Summer Intern REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficient Excel, Word & Power Point skills • Ability to identify & implement process improvements • Resourceful & takes initiative
Equivalent Education/Experience • Graduation from High School. • Enrolled in a college degree program preferably majoring in business, accounting, finance or applied mathematics
Summer Intern SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:
Work requires no lifting of more than 10 pounds, typing and computer work, i.e. sedentary, little to no external customer interaction. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to structured deadlines.
