  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY

    We are currently seeking a local and qualified General Construction Superintendent. The Superintendent is directly responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the project and will be onsite for the duration of the projects. This includes implementation of the project plans as well as project oversight and coordination with the project team. This position requires a close working relationship with the Project Manager, Site Safety & Health Officer, Foreman, and Quality Control/Quality Assurance Manager (QM), as well as other project team members.

    The Site Superintendent must have at least 3 years of applicable experience on projects involving civil construction, railroad, utilities, infrastructure, etc. The Site Superintendent is required to possess the ability to prepare written technical reports, covering all aspects of construction activities; ability to track site costs daily; ability to manage and ensure proper execution of multiple simultaneous subcontracts and/or vendors of varying types and complexity; ability to track site costs routinely; demonstrated ability to mediate with tact when dealing with customers.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • On-site implementation and coordination of the project plans per the SOW
    • Schedule and execute all phases of construction
    • Ability to lead regular internal and external tailgate meetings including daily discussions on project health and safety
    • Preparation of daily reports with Project Manager, Site Safety & Health Officer and QCM
    • Review and processing of project submittals
    • Active role in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with all on site staff
    • Coordination with on-site subs

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Degree or equivalent
    • A minimum of 7 years in Construction with a preference for Federal/DOD work
    • OSHA 30 Certificate

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

    • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
    • Experience with Microsoft® Office & other computer programs
    • Construction management experience

    Preferred

    • Federal government or DOD experience in construction
    • First Aid/CPR certified
    • Current security clearance
    • Estimating experience including RS Means
