  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for energetic, positive individuals to work as tutors we call Clinicians, in a Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center. Join us as we teach students of all ages to read and comprehend to their potential!

    Tutor Position Details:

    • Prior teaching experience is optional.
    • These positions are part-time, beginning in January.
    • Instruction is performed at a Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center located in San Francisco, CA.
    • The part-time tutor is not a remote position.
    • We provide paid training in the programs used by Lindamood-Bell.
    • All necessary technical equipment and program materials will be provided.
    • Internship credits may be available.

    Tutor Schedule Details:

    • This position requires Monday – Friday availability. Learning Center hours of operation are 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
    • Applicants should be available to work afternoons, Monday - Friday. Expected schedule is subject to change based on the scheduling needs of the Learning Center.
    • Required hours during the paid training are generally 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for two weeks. Following the training, as a part-time employee, you will generally be scheduled less than 30 hours per week according to the scheduling needs of the Learning Center.

    Tutor Expectations:

    • Have a passion for helping others reach their potential.
    • Implement positive reinforcement strategies that maximize learning cheerfully and authentically.
    • Possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills.
    • Possess basic computer skills.
    • Record notes about student performance while leading engaging sessions.
    • Associate’s degree, Early Childhood Education certificate, Bachelor's degree, or actively pursuing a degree is required.

    Tutor Responsibilities:

    • Provide one-to-one and small group instruction, in-person or online, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Center leadership.
    • Facilitate the use of the curriculum provided for Lindamood-Bell Academy students.
    • Interact positively and professionally with clients and staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
    • Manage client records, both handwritten and electronic.

    Compensation:

    The hourly rate for this position is $23 per hour.

  • Qualifications

    Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Provide engineering support to the AFGSC A4C staff on major facilities and infrastructure projects across the AFGSC installations. Assist in planning, developing requirements, cost estimates, and performing engineering management work for significant multi-phase projects that normally cross engineering disciplines and require professional technical knowledge of general engineering principles.
    • Provide planning and programming support for new and revised requirements at the installations. Participate on an engineering team and assist in the planning, survey, scope development, cost estimating, and phased scheduling of projects and requirements.
    • Evaluate and advise the Government on installation requests for new construction, renovation, and improvements of facilities and infrastructure. Provide technical assistance advisory support on emerging technologies to ensure programmed development will not prematurely become obsolete.
    • Advise the Government on validity, feasibility, achievability, and efficiency of proposed projects based on constraints in scheduling, manpower etc. Support the generation of independent Government cost estimates (IGCEs) for projects.
    • Provide MAJCOM engineering management of the project process. Provide assistance working with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed construction, maintenance and repair projects.
    • Provide assistance on the inspection/surveillance of assigned projects. Apply sufficient knowledge of general engineering discipline principles to discuss discrepancies and potential solutions with those performing the work.

    • Provide assistance in project life-cycle review and post-construction after action reporting and lessons learned.
