Job Title Processing / Packaging Division Department Shipping  

Reports To Shipping and Receiving Manager

Position Overview Inspects forgings for conformance to specifications, fix defects if possible, applying knowledge of metal characteristics and forging methods. Roles / Responsibilities Examines forgings to detect surface defects, such as underfill, scale, mismatch, laps, and cracks. Completes paperwork filling in all areas required. Reads job order to determine if all specified operation, such as heat-treating, cleaning,  have been performed Performs other related duties as required or directed. Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Grind parts when necessary

Skills / Competencies work well in fast paced environment Communicate with co-workers and supervisors. Self Motivated Specific Vocational Preparation (education & experience level)Skilled - From one to two years Internal Training. Needs How to use gages. How to fill out Cold Inspection Forms. How to read a PCP. Know what tags to use and when How to fill out tags. Where to look on parts for defects. Where to find samples of defects. All internal documentation related to position BACK SAFETY HAZARDOUS COMMUNICATION PPE HEARING CONSERVATIONLOCKOUT / TAGOUT - AFFECTED MACHINE GUARDING Strength Guide (select one) LIGHT Exert force to 20lbs occasionally or 10lbs frequently. MEDIUM Exert force to 20-50lbs occasionally or 10-25lbs frequently. HEAVY Exert force to 50-100lbs occasionally or 25-50lbs frequently.
