Heavy Civil Laborer
40|50 Construction is seeking motivated and experienced Heavy Civil Laborers to join our team throughout Montana! This awesome career opportunity will allow you to travel all over the state of Montana and be part of some amazing projects! A Civil Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties on construction sites and possess a basic knowledge of proper use and care of small tools and equipment. Knowledge also includes some basic operation of equipment required for basic tasks that may be performed. They may prepare sites by loading or unloading materials, digging trenches, compacting earth, and removing trash/hazards. Other duties may include installing water and sewer piping, forming and pouring concrete.
Job Duties:
Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards.
Identify, use, and operate various equipment, hand, and power tools applicable to the task.
Proficient in the safe and efficient use of layout tools, and measurement tools.
Measure and mark pipes for cutting.
Ability to load or unload construction materials, pipe, and equipment.
Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel, using pick, rake, shovel, etc.
Dig up existing pipes and lines.
Prepare ground trenches for pipes and utility lines.
Use chains, slings, or guide wires to rig pipes, trench boxes, and slide rail shoring systems.
Guide pipes and shoring devices into place, assisting the equipment operator.
Remove, fill, or compact earth.
Drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures, such as buildings, bridges, and piers.
Assist all workers and perform daily job site housekeeping and cleanup.
Move from job to job as projects progress.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.
Work safely around heavy equipment, and people at all times.
Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Display a willing attitude to learn from others and possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Focus on work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment and underground utilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a fast paced, team environment.
Ability to travel to areas of remote construction project location in Montana, Wyoming & Idaho.

Pay: Dependent experience
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
